Janmastami Celebration’s

30 of August 2010

Dear Parents, Caregivers and Friends,

On behalf of all of Radha Giridhari Temple we would like to invite you to celebrate Krishna’s Birthday at the Janmastami festival on the 2nd of September. It is by far the biggest celebration of the year and we encourage all to attend. I know some of you have previous engagements with other Janmastami celebrations going on around Auckland and to those people we extend our warm seasons greetings and trust your festivals are a great success.

The children who are attending the Radha Giridhari Janmastami will be performing as part of the cultural entertainment provided on the main stage. All children who will be attending are requested to assemble downstairs in the prasadam hall by 7.30pm directly after the 7.00pm Arati ceremony.

Please make sure all children performing wear appropriate clothing such as festival/temple attire, strictly no jeans, tee-shirts or character costumes, unless its Radha and Krishna of course!

This year we have decided to introduce a ‘Pot Luck’ for the school Janmastami celebrations, if you are able and have time to prepare some sweets for your child to bring as an offering you are most welcome to do so. Please make sure that the items are pure vegetarian, eg, no eggs and strictly no items containing nuts.

We would like to also remind you that school will finish at 2pm on Janmastami day.

There are some spaces available for the bus charter to and from the temple on the night of Janmastami, please let us know by Wednesday if you would like to take advantage of this. The cost and details will be dependent on number of passengers.

The school will be presenting the Campaign for 108 students at the festival. If you have any friends or anyone interested in joining the school, Jamastami will be a great opportunity to secure a place at the school.

On Prabhupada’s Appearance Day, Friday the 3rd of September the school will be closed.

If you require any clarification of any of these points please contact the School Office.

Thanks and warm regards,

Yours in service to Krishna,

Vanessa (Secretary)
