A Post Janmastami Update.
Thanks to Vanessa mataji and Rohit prabhu for presenting such an attractive school stall in the temple for Janmastami. Many parents and congregation have commented on the school presence during the Janmastami festival and the professional level of the presentation. We had an enrollment call first thing Monday morning which is confirmed and a new student started this morning. We have a couple of enrollment meetings within the next week and six other confirmed but yet to be enrolled students. Fingers crossed they are in by the deadline of October 1st. We still have a few more to go but we have certainly made tremendous progress.
We currently have our Enrol Now signs up in the Bharatiya Mandir and The Radha Krishna Temple at the Mahatama Gandhi centre. We have also left pamphlets and flyers at these temples. We have attended the Indian Independence Day celebrations and thanks to Nikhil and Kamini and family for their efforts we distributed hundreds of flyers and spoke with lots of interested people about the school. We also attended the first Raksha Bandhan festival held at the Mahatma Gandhi centre. We set up a table and distributed flyers.
We are planning a couple of seminars and at least one more webinar to promote the school before the end of the month. We’ll keep you posted on the dates for these.
We have also placed signs advertising the school on both sides of both buses. Previoulsy this was our best form of advertising.
This week we will be looking at placing advertising and articles in the Indian Newspapers and radio.
So we still have a long way to go but we are on track and focussed on the goal. Remember the absolute best advertising for the school is satisfied customers. If you can speak to your colleagues, neighbours, family and friends about the benefits of attending Hare Krishna School this will be a great contribution.
We really do have the best school in New Zealand!

Janmastami Celebration’s
30 of August 2010
Dear Parents, Caregivers and Friends,
On behalf of all of Radha Giridhari Temple we would like to invite you to celebrate Krishna’s Birthday at the Janmastami festival on the 2nd of September. It is by far the biggest celebration of the year and we encourage all to attend. I know some of you have previous engagements with other Janmastami celebrations going on around Auckland and to those people we extend our warm seasons greetings and trust your festivals are a great success.
The children who are attending the Radha Giridhari Janmastami will be performing as part of the cultural entertainment provided on the main stage. All children who will be attending are requested to assemble downstairs in the prasadam hall by 7.30pm directly after the 7.00pm Arati ceremony.
Please make sure all children performing wear appropriate clothing such as festival/temple attire, strictly no jeans, tee-shirts or character costumes, unless its Radha and Krishna of course!
This year we have decided to introduce a ‘Pot Luck’ for the school Janmastami celebrations, if you are able and have time to prepare some sweets for your child to bring as an offering you are most welcome to do so. Please make sure that the items are pure vegetarian, eg, no eggs and strictly no items containing nuts.
We would like to also remind you that school will finish at 2pm on Janmastami day.
There are some spaces available for the bus charter to and from the temple on the night of Janmastami, please let us know by Wednesday if you would like to take advantage of this. The cost and details will be dependent on number of passengers.
The school will be presenting the Campaign for 108 students at the festival. If you have any friends or anyone interested in joining the school, Jamastami will be a great opportunity to secure a place at the school.
On Prabhupada’s Appearance Day, Friday the 3rd of September the school will be closed.
If you require any clarification of any of these points please contact the School Office.
Thanks and warm regards,
Yours in service to Krishna,
Vanessa (Secretary)
