Overview of Campaign 108

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

You may be wondering what “Campaign 108″ is all about. In this blog post I will give some background and an overview of the campaign.

What is Campaign 108?

The Hare Krishna School has been providing a unique educational experience for a limited number of children over the last few years. Now the school wants to offer this experience to a greater number of people. Campaign 108 is a campaign to promote the school and increase the roll to 108 students.

Why 108?

Over the last 3-4 years the school roll has remained steady between 85-90 students. We have examined the Ministry of Educations funding formula and we have seen that a roll of 108 maximizes the funding the school receives while at the same time preserving the character of the school and the low student to teacher ratio. This in turn allows us to provide the very best education for the students who attend our school.

How is Campaign 108 being run?

The primary way we will promote the school for Campaign 108 will be through seminars and webinars. The seminars will discuss how to preserve Indian language and culture in while at school in New Zealand and how the Hare Krishna School helps to make that happen. Those who attend the seminars and webinars will be given a special offer to make it very easy for their child to enrol in Hare Krishna School.

How can I help?

By inviting people to the webinars and seminars and by sharing the positive effects Hare Krishna School has had on your child.

What is the benefit to current students?

By increasing the roll to 108, the school will be funded at the level that gives maximum funding per student and ensures low student to teacher ratios. This means current students will have the best learning opportunities, and school fees will be kept low.

Any parent to refers a new student who enrols in the school will also qualify for bonuses and prizes.

Here are some ideas from the meeting on 1st August.

What can you do to make this promotion a success?

* Contact various Indian associations about holding a seminar. Let us know who to contact so we can schedule the seminar.
* Contact Indian Radio and TV about community notices / advertisements
* Ask businesses to donate prizes that we can give as bonuses for new students as well as awards for those who refer many students.
* Distribute flyers advertising our seminars and special promotional offer
* Talk to your friends and family and anyone else who may be interested.
* Tweet, post on Facebook, etc.

Please keep in touch and let us know your progress with these action points.

Many of you have already committed to doing some of the things above. If not, we welcome your help.

“Many hands make light work.” We have set a challenging target, but if we work together it is certainly possible.

Your servant,

Our first promotional event will be Indian Independence Day, next Sunday 15th August. Thjs is being celebrated at the Aotea Centre. The school will be sharing a table with the temple for this event. It will be a great opportunity to meet parents of prospective students and let them know about our school, the upcoming seminars and our special offer.
