Parent Information Evening Thursday 17th March

Wednesday, March 16th, 2011

Haribol Everyone!

This is a reminder announcement that this Thursday 17th March we will be holding a parent info evening.

The focus for this session will be Literacy and Mathematics.

It will be a concise presentation beginning at 7.00pm sharp and finishing at 8.00pm

This is not a parent teacher interview, we will be holding this later in the term.

We will meet at the prasadam hall downstairs from the Temple room, so park in the temple car park – not at the school.

We also have something from the Ministry of Education for you to take home which will help you to understand how best to support your child’s learning programme.
Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Please note we will have light refreshment served at 6.30pm in the prasadam hall at the temple.

Your servant,

Prana dasa

Buddy Readers in action week 2 term 4

Wednesday, October 27th, 2010

A highlight of the week -”Buddy Reading” This is a great opportunity for the older students to share with the younger kids and to develop friendships with children from other classrooms. Buddy reading is an integral part of our language programme at Hare Krishna School.

Grand Gala Day Govardhan Puja and Go-Puja

Wednesday, October 27th, 2010

We had a very enthusiastic meeting of a small number of parents and Board members last Sunday. We acknowledge all those who had informed us that they were unable to attend due to previous long weekend commitments.

We have finalised a list of stalls and help required for the day. As well as cakes and bakes we will be trying to cater for the kids as much as possible with rides, face painting, balloons etc. The kids from school will also be performimg and assisting in stalls and will be trained to take money and give change.

We will also have a “White Elephant” stall where all sorts of “pre-loved’ items will be for sale. If you have any old toys, books etc that are still in reasonable condition please send them along with your child and we will sell them at the stall.

All parents are requested to either bring along a cake or some kind of bakes or send ingredients for our temple cooks to bake a cake.

Another important aspect to the fundraising on the day is the sponsorship forms that were sent home. Hopefully you will not wait for the day but if you do we will have a number of places you can make the payment within the temple compound.

Remember our goal is $20,000 plus. We intend to complete work on the school hall over the Christmas break and to get started on the carpark area and entrance to the school. So we need to collect as much as possible. Dig deep and give from the heart. We have received some very genrous sponsors so far, with a few more pledges promised. Please hand out the sponsorship forms to friends and relatives and encourage them to also support the future growth and development of our school. Thank you for your on-going support.

Looking forward to seeing you on the day.

Prana dasa.
