Term Three “Virtue” focus

This morning in assembly we announced the “Virtue” focus for the term.

The “Virtue” is Cleanliness; internal and external.

Srila Prabhupada recommends chanting Hare Krishna for internal cleanliness and by so doing we can purify our thoughts, speech and actions. We will be focused on clean speech for the first two weeks.

Part of our school wide approach to dealing with conflict is active listening and giving “I” statements to express our feelings.  This will be revisited over the coming weeks to assist children make positive choices when it comes to communicating their feelings and expressing their desires.

We will also be targeting positive language use in our mother tongue. SO whether it be in Hindi, Gujarati, Maori or any other language we are encouraging helpful rather than “hurtful” language. We value and encourage the use of all languages. We would very much like to see that the mother tongue is used to communicate in a positive and helpful way.
